Designed to last well beyond the nursery years, and fully recyclable or biodegradable when it's time to let go.
New Zealand Pine
A-grade New Zealand pine, water-based chemical-free paint, delivered in two compact, plastic-free cartons.
Ash
100% natural ash wood from FSC-certified forests, eco-wood construction, VOC and formaldehyde-free paints and varnishes, 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
Birch
Solid birch, finished for a smooth, splinter-free edge on every curve, from the natural grain of the wood to the finish of every surface.

Because Gaia Baby furniture is built to evolve with your family rather than be replaced, it uses less raw material overall and reduces the environmental impact of transport and manufacturing across its lifetime. A cot bed that converts from newborn cot to junior bed means one purchase, one delivery, and one set of raw materials doing the job of several. At end of life, our beds are fully recyclable.
Family-run manufacturing, not mass production.
We specifically choose to partner with small, family-run businesses, not large anonymous factories. Every raw material we use is supplied with authentication certificates so we can verify our suppliers meet the standard we set.
The metalwork
The signature cast feet of the Serena collection are made from recycled aluminium in a small family-run factory in Shandong province.
The woodwork
Our wood products are made in a family-run factory near Qingdao, a coastal city. The factory owner and his family live above the office on site.
The upholstery
Our nursing chairs are made in a small upholstery workshop where 3 families and 3 generations of seamstresses and tailors work together.
